Prof. Dr. Dimitrios Georgakakis
Assistant Professor in Strategic Leadership and International Corporate Governance, FIM-HSG
Dimitrios Georgakakis is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of St Gallen. Prior to this, he was a visiting scholar through the Swiss National Science Foundation at Texas A&M University, Mays Business School. His research focuses on the areas of Strategic Leadership, CEO succession, Top Management Teams, and International Corporate Governance.
He received a PhD degree in Strategic Management (Awarded with Summa Cum Laude) from the University of St. Gallen, (CH). His research has received several awards from highly reputable academic organizations – such as the Academy of Management and the European Institute of Advanced Studies. In 2018, Dimitrios received the reputable Latsis Prize which named him as the most outstanding young researcher (below the age of 40) at the University of St Gallen. His work has been published in several academic outlets –such as the Journal of Management Studies, the Academy of Management Discoveries, the Journal of World Business, the Leadership Quarterly, among several others. Dimitrios serves at the Editorial Board of the Corporate Governance and International Review, and acts as an ad-hoc reviewer in several journals and scientific organizations – including the Swiss National Science Foundation.
