St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking
The St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking not only delivers facts, but also identifies areas for improvement and provides concrete recommendations. These relate to the HR process, from recruiting to pipeline management through to career planning and, if you wish, the payroll system, too.
St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking is efficient and cost-effective. You can simply export the records in CSV format from your personnel management software and supplement them with data on candidacies and diversity measures. We make the data comparable and calculate the relevant figures.
The St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking is the independent diversity analysis in Switzerland. Well-known companies and trade associations (e.g. the Employers Association of Banks in Switzerland) rely on our benchmarking.
The St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking is an objective, scientifically based analysis. We work with anonymous raw data from personnel management. We derive the relevant key figures from this data.

Strength through diversity.
Diversity & inclusion as keys to long-term company success
Diversity and an open corporate culture are important drivers of innovation and collaboration. Studies show that mixed teams perform better in these categories. Diversity is also important in view of current demographic developments: Companies that actively embrace diversity as an opportunity can enhance their competitiveness, remain an attractive employer in the long-term, overcome the skills shortage, and secure successors for key leadership positions.
Our scientifically based and practice-oriented benchmarking provides companies and institutions with an objective assessment of their organisations. It reveals strengths and areas for improvement and provides a basis for defining clear goals and measures. We also support you in developing and implementing improvement measures.
For over 10 years, we have been collecting diversity and inclusion figures with the St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking. These figures are analysed for participating companies, objectively, efficiently and in a suitable way for human resources processes. You get evaluations by independent experts that show your organisation’s strengths and areas for improvement, as well as year-to-year progress.
As a participating company, you will receive a benchmarking report comparing all participating companies, as well as an individual report with interpretations for your own organisation.
Participating companies benefit in many ways, because St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking is objective, relevant, recognised and efficient.
In order to calculate figures, we need data from your company. You provide anonymised records for each employee according to clearly defined criteria. We pay strict attention to compliance with data protection laws when defining the criteria.
You can easily export the data from your personnel management software (e.g. SAP), which takes about 6 to 8 hours of work. We save the data securely on a local server. Only staff working on the project have access to it.
If you also want us to evaluate whether your salaries are non-discriminatory, just provide us with anonymous salary data. We will evaluate the data and, if there is no salary discrimination by gender, the Competence Centre for Diversity & Inclusion at the University of St. Gallen will certify this.
The deadline for data delivery is 16 March 2018. We will provide you with the results of your St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking by the end of June. Results will only be made available to a wider audience if desired and with your agreement.

To see how different divisions, departments, business units or sectors in your company compare with regard to diversity & inclusion, it is worth carrying out an in-house benchmarking. Here we compare the divisions or departments within your company using selected diversity figures.
